FROM THE OFFICE....
WOW - it is hard to believe that we are in the final weeks of the 2021-2022 school year!
Please ensure that your child is prepared for
significant outdoor time each day when you send them off to school. Be prepared by using sunscreen in the mornings and it also may be wise to ensure to have an
extra set of clothes (including socks) in their backpack - just in case we have mud puddles on our playground!
We have lots of exciting things happening these days at Keppel!
Our Grade 5 basketball intramurals are in full swing at recess time! Thanks to our Grade 6 referees and scorekeepers as well as to our supervising staff members and coaches for making this opportunity available to our Grade 5 Cougars!
Keppel's Got Talent is back! Auditions are happening this week and we are looking forward to some awesome performances next week!
Our Grade 4 - 6 classes are completing their Field events during gym class and are training for Track events as well. We are hosting our school Track and Field meet will be held on Tuesday, May 24th (raindate is Wednesday, May 25th). Our top finishers will be invited to attend the City Track and Field meet on Wednesday, June 8th (rain date is Friday, June 10th).
Our Grade 3 & 6 students will be completing EQAO assessments between May 30th and June 10th. Please ensure you are aware of the dates that effect your child specifically and try to avoid booking appointments and/or being late for school on these dates!
Just a reminder that daily covid screening prior to attending school continues to be required for staff and students. See the guidelines for student screening below. Please do not hesitate to reach out to Mrs. Gilkinson if you have any questions or require clarification about the GBHU/ BWDSB Covid Protocols. (Please note - we will continue to update these forms as revisions to the protocols are made.)

Please also reach out to your child(ren)'s homeroom teacher if you are looking to keep them caught up with their school work during days that they are absent from school. Our teachers regularly post information and activities in their virtual learning classrooms to assist in keeping kids on-track during prolonged absences from school. (These sites are helpful on snow days as well!)
