FROM THE OFFICE....
It is almost time for our 2024-2025 school year to begin and we are looking forward to another awesome year at Keppel-Sarawak!
SCHOOL SUPPLIES
Many of our families have been inquiring about what their child(ren) needs to bring to school....here is the list that has been shared on our Facebook page and in home-school communications:
FIRST DAY OF SCHOOL
The first day of school is Tuesday, September 3rd
Our school hours are 8:50am – 3:10pm.
Our students can start arriving for school at 8:30am once our staff is on the yard to supervise student drop off routines. Pick up time for those not riding a bus is between 3:05 – 3:15pm.
Only students in Kindergarten will be hearing from their new teacher PRIOR to the first day of school. Kindergarten families can look for a brief introductory email to help with the transition into school as we know the first year of school is a big step for you and your child!
Students going into Grade 1 – 6 will return to their last year’s class when they arrive at school on Tuesday and their teacher will assist them in getting to their new class.
Students should be settled into their new classes by @ 9:30am on the first day of school. Parents will receive communication (either by email or a paper copy) from their child’s new teacher(s) on the first day of school with an introduction to their new learning environment for the 2024-25 school year!
All of your children are in great hands - we have an amazing, caring staff! We are planning to have a Meet the Teacher event early in the school year so you will meet all of your child's teachers in-person very soon!
SCHOOL ROUTINES
Here is a powerpoint outlining all of the important routines that help our school day run smoothly:

As always, our door is always open and we are only a phone call or visit away.
See you on September 3rd for our first day of school!

LIBRARY PROJECT UPDATES:
Our Library Project is complete and our students and staff are LOVING this new space at the heart of our school!
Thanks to each and every KS Cougar Family and community member/ business for your support of this project....we couldn't have done it without you!
Check out this video from a former Keppel Cougar who had a very special part in making this project happen at our school....
True to her word, Cheryl Hickey (host of ET Canada) attended a Spring Carnival fundraiser, as well as our Keppel's Got Talent Show where she was part of a grand-finale of getting a pie in the face, along with several KS teachers, as part of our fundraising challenge for this Library Project!
Cheryl was instrumental in partnering with some Canadian companies to garner some additional support for our project!
Cheryl is a true example of how small home towns hold a special place in your heart and "Once a KS cougar - always a KS cougar! We are forever grateful for her support with this project!
